It’s not failing the ASVAB or being out of shape... it’s starting the process without a clear direction.

The Biggest Mistake Recruits Make

Message From The Front
Everyone Feels This From The Start.. Well almost everyone.
Quick-ish note today.
Most of the conversations I've been having lately start the same way — someone new to the process, trying to figure out where to begin, and the first thing out of their mouth is "I just don't know where to start."
I don’t believe this is a confidence problem. It’s a misinformation problem.
Most people get pointed straight to a recruiter before they ever take a second to understand the process they are entering in. And this drives me crazy.
So, standby. There's more coming; the platform, the community, the full picture. You'll get it before anyone else. Stay with us.
Better yet, keep reading below.
Welcome to the collective. Lets get after it. 🇺🇸👊

Question of the Week
What is the best advice for basic training / boot camp?
I. Love. This. Question.
I could spend weeks focusing on this.
There really isn’t ONE thing to pass on. But this is one of the best.
Don’t take it personal. Any of it. The drill sergeants / instructors. Your peers. The training. It’s all part of the process… and it’s temporary.

Meet Kyle – from Michigan, to the Navy![]() | I met Kyle a few weeks ago as he is trying to figure out his path. He is currently working studying for his ASVAB and preparing for MEPS. “I can’t wait to ship out. Ty helped me more in our first 15 minutes, that my recruiters did in three months. Thanks for the meetings and the youtube videos!” Got someone to nominate? |

![]() 1-on-1 Chat with this dude 👆 | Once a week, I open a few spots on my calendar for FREE chats with people who are thinking about the military. These are the conversations I wish someone had with me before I started my military journey: ASVAB, MEPS, choosing the right branch, or just figuring out where to begin. If you’re thinking about the military but feel unsure about your next step, this is a great place to start. |
